Privacy Policy — Vibe Variant
Last updated: 24 August 2026
Vibe Variant is a Shopify app operated by VibeTheory Private Limited ("we", "us"), registered at C-20, 1/1A, Coast Guard Golf Ground Rd, C Block, Phase 2, Industrial Area, Sector 62, Noida, Uttar Pradesh 201309, India.
This policy explains what the app does with data. It is short because the app does very little with data.
What we store
When you install Vibe Variant, we store two things on our servers:
- your shop's domain (for example your-store.myshopify.com)
- an access token issued by Shopify, which lets the app call Shopify's API on your behalf
That is the entirety of what we retain. We hold no other record of your store.
What we do not store
We do not store, and have no copy of:
- your customers' names, email addresses, orders, or any other customer data
- your products, variants, or images
- your store owner or staff details
- analytics, behavioural, or usage data about your shoppers
The app's storefront code runs entirely in the shopper's browser. It sets no cookies, makes no requests to our servers, and sends no data anywhere.
What the app accesses without storing
To function, the app reads and writes some data through Shopify's API during a request, without retaining it:
- Products and variants — to show your products in the app and to save your image selections.
- Your theme's settings file — read only, and only to check whether the app's storefront component is switched on, so we can warn you if it is not. We never modify your theme.
Your image selections are stored as metafields on your own Shopify store, not in our database. They belong to you and remain in your store.
Where data is held
- Application hosting: Google Cloud Platform, in the asia-northeast3 (Seoul) region.
- Session storage: Supabase (managed PostgreSQL), also hosted in Seoul.
Both act as processors on our behalf and hold only the shop domain and access token described above.
Retention and deletion
When you uninstall the app, Shopify notifies us and we delete your shop domain and access token immediately. Nothing is retained.
Your image selections are stored as metafields in your own store, in a namespace that belongs to your shop rather than to the app. Shopify therefore leaves them in place after uninstalling, so that reinstalling does not lose your work. If you want them removed, you can delete them yourself in the Shopify admin under Settings → Custom data → Variants, or ask us and we will do it.
Your customers' data
We do not collect it. We support Shopify's mandatory data-protection requests — including customer data requests, customer redaction, and shop redaction — and in each case our response is that we hold no personal data about your customers, because we do not.
Your rights
You may ask us what we hold about your shop, ask us to delete it, or withdraw consent by uninstalling the app. Contact info@vibetheory.ai and we will respond within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above. If a change materially affects what we do with your data, we will notify merchants with the app installed.
